Policies and Procedures

The NSMHA hasimplemented some policies to assist in ensuring that our programs function ineffective manners.  The Executiveencourages all parents, players and visitors to help administer these for thecontinued enjoyment of the sport and to promote fair play and sportsmanship,both on home ice and away.

 

Commitment Policy

All families areresponsible for fulfilling at least one commitment to the association.  An undated chequemust be made payable to the New Sarepta Minor HockeyAssociation for $100.00 and is to be submitted at the time ofregistration.  A form is available whichmust be signed by the parents so they understand the policy and it’s commitments. Parents may chose which vacant task they want to fulfill.  Please note, your cheque will not be cashed unless you fail to fulfill yourcommitment.

 

Conflictand Resolution

If you are upsetabout something, be it a penalty call, bodily contact, verbal abuse on players,coaches, or persons in the stands, we are very concerned.  We need to remember that hockey at this levelis for fun, for the kids.  This is whatwe encourage to be done:

 

Take some time tocool down and re-assess the situation

For issuesinvolving the Local Level:

If you can resolvethe issue, then try to do so maintaining rational behavior

Talk to theManager involved or address the issue with the appropriate Level Director

If the issue isnot resolved, contact the NSMHA President

If required, athree member panel will be struck to hear the issues

For issuesinvolving the Zone Level:

The Minor HockeyZone Chairperson is to be contacted

For issuesinvolving the Provincial Level:

Hockey AlbertaMinor Council Chairperson will be contacted

Remember, it is ineveryone’s best interests to remain controlled during disagreements.  Our children learn best from what they see,irregardless what it is.

Fair Play

The New Sarepta Minor Hockey Association endorses Fair Play Pledgesfor officials, players, coaches and parents alike.  Our Association Handbook has these printedfor your pleasure.  Please review them.

SPORTSMANSHIP – ZERO TOLERANCE

New Sarepta Minor Hockey Association adopted and supports the Zero Tolerance Policy.   This notice is visible as you enter the arena.  This board reminds parents and fans that abuse of any kind will not be tolerated.  Let us set a good example for our kids and other teams coming into our building.  PLAY FAIR!!
